Christie Announces 4K Projectors for Business Customers

Christie Twist 4K4K projectors are typically reserved for the cinema market, though there has been an increasing desire for their use in other applications, mainly business. As a result of this growing demand, Christie has announced the official launch of the Christie Twist 4K projector at the International Broadcasting Convention 2012, otherwise known as IBC 2012, which recently took place in Amsterdam.

The Christie Twist 4K was designed for Christie 4K, 3-chip DLP projectors used in business applications and enables the warping, blending and color matching of multi-projector displays in large-screen, fixed installation applications. This means use in places like amusement parks, automotive designs, museums and planetariums that require exceptionally large images in a multi-channel format.

The Christie Twist 4K creates uniform, tiled images with superior color consistency across the entire display whenever you are using multiple projectors. According to Senior Director of Product Management Business Products at Christie George Tsintzouras, “Whether it’s a flat or curved surface, with Christie Twist 4K, ProAV professionals can now blend and color match images from multiple 4K projectors, easily creating large, ultra-high resolution canvasses that will amaze audiences like never before.”

The Christie Twist 4K is equipped with Quad DVI input, which allows for the use of standard DVI sources. “With Christie Twist 4K, Christie Expands its 4K solution offerings and gives end users the ability to create large, high-pixel density panoramas that show their content with the finest detail, without distortion,” Tsintzouras added.

There has yet to be any official word on pricing for the Christie Twist 4K, though a rough release date has been announced. According to the company, the Christie Twist 4K is set to ship out to customers sometime in October 2012.

New 3LCD Projectors Debuted by Christie

Christie LX601iChristie debuted its new LX501 and LX601i projectors at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show in Las Vegas today, both of which are the first devices in Christie’s new 3LCD product line. Both projectors offer high lumen outputs as well as features that make them great for professional settings.

The LX501 is a 5,000 lumen XGA projector that comes complete with a 1,024 x 768 resolution with a 3,000:1 contrast ratio. In addition to that, the LX501 is designed specifically for small to medium-sized venues, which makes it perfect for use in higher education, corporate environments or government agencies.

The new LX601i is a professional grade XGA projector that outputs 6,000 lumens and is perfect for similar situations that may require increased brightness. This projector also has features that simplify integration during setup and troubleshooting while also providing a quick and easy messaging display for users.

According to Senior Product Manager of Business Products for Christie Frank Anzures, “This new platform introduces two new products that provide customers with solutions that address both budgetary and professional needs without compromising feature sets – with four additional widescreen options to follow soon.”

With this new platform, Christie also plans on introducing a hybrid filter rated up to 20,000 hours that has absolutely no moving parts. This would reduce the need to change filters frequently as well as long-life lamps, further decreasing your overall cost of ownership.

Another good feature of these projectors is that they can be used at higher altitudes. According to Anzures, “At higher elevations 3LCD projectors typically can’t cool properly and run the risk of shutting down. However, with the altitude ratings for this projector line, customers in high altitude regions can have the confidence to choose either of these models.”

Both the Christie LX501 and Christie LX601i 3LCD projectors should ship sometime in May 2012.
